What Startup Veteran Diego Panama Brings to Logicgate as Its New President and COO

Diego Panama, LogicGate President and COO, interviewed by Alex Zorn, Staff Reporter at Chicago Business Journal

One of Chicago’s fastest-growing software startups has made a new addition to its leadership team that it hopes will help fuel its next phase of growth.

Diego Panama is LogicGate’s new president and chief operating officer.

LogicGate, a software-as-a-service startup that helps companies identify, assess, and monitor business risks, appointed Panama to the role earlier this month.

Panama joins the Chicago startup with a strong background in helping to grow and scale SaaS companies. The tech veteran helped business-to-business SaaS startup Olo reach $284 million in revenue and played a key role in scaling LiveRamp, another SaaS company focused on data collaboration, from less than $20 million to more than $500 million—contributing to its 2018 IPO.

He will report to CEO Matt Kunkel and oversee LogicGate’s go-to-market and product and technology functions for the organization.

Panama told Chicago Inno he is joining the Chicago Techstars alum at a “pivotal time” in its journey. LogicGate saw an increase in large, enterprise-sized customers in 2024, according to a company statement released earlier this year, as it continues to execute on the $113 million in funding it announced in 2022.

Panama discussed his new role and what’s next for the company in an interview with Chicago Inno.
